Interpersonal traumatizations, differences between trauma due to maltreatment and abuse and trauma due to natural catastrophes, possible formation of personality disorders in the long term (due to complex PTSD) and reparation in the treatment, through “embodied witnessing”
In this presentation, Dr. Clara Mucci will guide us through an examination of what she terms the three levels of interpersonal traumatizations with all the consequences at the level of attachment styles, interpersonal neurobiology, and affect regulation and personality dynamics up to the point of developing Complex PTSD and personality disorders.
The presentation will be based on her books Beyond Individual and Collective Trauma (Routledge, 2013), Borderline Bodies: Affect Regulation Therapy for Personality Disorders (Norton, 2018), and Resilience and Survival: Understanding and Healing Intergenerational Traumatizations (Confer/Karnac, 2022).
