About

Do you often feel at odds with your body? Do you feel embattled with, or even cut off from it? If so, then you might also struggle with emotional distress, preoccupation, and an underlying sense of not being fully present to your life. The deep, resonating hope of Bodyworks Psychotherapy, is to engage you as a whole human being--mind and body--towards freedom. The word 'psychotherapy' means mind-healing. It's my belief, and personal experience, that mind-healing happens in large part through a process of coming home to our bodies. Trusting. Locating. Learning to listen.

I'm interested in helping you locate the stories, themes, and traumas that your body holds and to grow a sense of safety and at-home-ness in your own skin. While I work largely through talk-therapy, we will also use mindfulness, meditation, body-mapping, and other healing tools in this process.

In closing, I'd like to highlight that areas of speciality include but are not limited to spiritual/religious abuse (specifically Christian), eating disorders/disordered eating, body image/body acceptance, and identity formation. Where have you been asked to abandon yourself? Let's do the work of reclamation.
