Erika Straus-Bowers
I offer psychotherapy to adults of all ages who are seeking support for working through effects of past trauma or ongoing oppression, difficulties in relationships, loss and grief, questions of identity and belonging, and the overwhelm of anxiety and depression.
My therapeutic approach is relational and psychodynamic, grounded primarily in teachings on early attachment, the nervous system, mindfulness, and sociocultural context. With a warm and reflective style, I bring my full attention to creating a space in which individuals can tune in to their present experience and bring understanding to suffering stored from the past in their bodies, minds, and patterns of adapting in the world.
I believe every person has deep basic needs for safety and growth, which can become interrupted or threatened over the course of living. The process of intentionally paying attention to yourself in partnership with an attuned and compassionate therapist can facilitate the healing of emotional wounds and the development of renewed steadiness and connection to yourself and others.
I look forward to hearing from you, if you would like to see what it is like to meet. I currently offer sessions by video telehealth only.
I am in network with Regence Blue Shield, Premera Blue Cross, and LifeWise insurance plans. I am an out-of-network provider for other insurance companies, and I also accept self-pay.
