Julene T. Weaver
My goal is to provide support, patience, encouragement, and an occasional challenge as part of our therapeutic relationship. My intention is to assist you to achieve your goals, and to support you through the difficult process of change as you find your inner strengths and take action.
I have over twenty years experience providing social services and adherence counseling (specific to overcoming difficulties in taking medications as prescribed) in Seattle, Washington. Trained in Motivational Interviewing and Stages of Change, a treatment strategy that facilitates the process of change to assist you in reaching your goals while resolving ambivalence.
I work with healing modalities and alternative approaches, exploration of dreams (using Montague Ullman’s approach), and the study of the healing energy of plants, (Certification in the Wise Woman Tradition through Susun Weed). A Wise Woman Tradition tool I use is a scale of action that starts at zero, the vital “Do Nothing,” or “Invisible” step. Working holistically we will come up with a plan together, because you are the expert in your life.
Talk therapy is most effective when integrated through the body. If you are willing, I will work with you to explore movement and sound. I have practiced Continuum Movement since 1988 and have experience with Buteyko breath work. Also, my training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy gives me a foundation to work with trauma. The more open, collaborative, and able you are to invest time and effort between sessions, the more integrated the work we do together will become. I will ask for feedback at each session so we can work together effectively.
My standard fee is $105 for a 50-minute session; I reserve the right to reduce my fee based on need or circumstance. My fee is due at the time of service by cash, check or credit card. I am not on insurance panels, but can provide you with a receipt to submit to seek reimbursement. It is up to you to check with your insurance provider about your coverage for out of network providers. You retain ultimate responsibility for payment for services.
