Martin Buber once said, “All real living is meeting.” We humans seem built for connection, for meeting, for encounter. We thrive when we are able to see and be seen. Yet, all humans also experience barriers to connection. Depression, anxiety, and the impact of trauma in our life and story often prevents the very sense of belonging we yearn for. How can psychotherapy help? Psychotherapy can become a place to experience belonging and attunement, to discover ways there have been maladaptive patterns of disconnection in your life, and to imagine new ways of living that will bring relational healing.
I work with adults and adolescents in individual therapy and offer play therapy for younger clients, starting at age 5. Through conversation and through play I aim to offer clients that chance to see and be seen. This creates a healthy attachment between us that can become a healing salve for emotional and relational pain.
As someone who has personally benefited from years of therapy, I feel privileged to be able to offer the same healing space to others who hurt like I have. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you or your child to help restore and strengthen your ability to connect and thrive once again. I would be deeply honored to hear from you.
I charge $130 per 53-minute session and offer a $30 discount for those without insurance. I am in network with Premera, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Lifewise. I also can be seen as out-of-network with some insurance companies and have limited sliding scale options as needed.
