"Using Theater and Group Process to Promote Mutual Recognition and Communal Wellbeing”
This two-day conference combines play reading, interactive theater, and small group processes to identify and explore alternatives that have the potential to generate mutual recognition and communal wellbeing in our private and civic lives.
Using themes illuminated in a dramatic play reading as inspiration, Interactive theater and Theatre of the Oppressed practices will be used to identify and explore desired changes—within our therapy groups and our own lives. Interactive theater brings us into embodied dialogue and reflective practices, allowing us to learn in the here-and- now about ourselves, and the lived experiences of others. We will search together for hidden, but accessible perspectives that might show us the way. Where there is distrust and discord we hope to facilitate empathy and healing."Using Theater and Group Process to Promote Mutual Recognition and Communal Wellbeing”
